Radley Green is exclusively partnering an early-stage start-up to recruit their first in-house Finance Director.

The business is currently less than 10 people and operates in the innovative tech space. This is an amazing opportunity to join a bootstrapped business in its infancy and work two tech founders that have exited their last 3 businesses with a combined value of $500m.

This role requires someone with experience working in a hardware business or have experience managing hardware within a growth business.

This role is initially a very hands-on position where the successful candidate will set up finance systems and processes from scratch, alongside managing a recently acquired company, and provide insight and analysis to aid decision making. The role will grow and develop over time and the founders plan to make this a £1bn business in 5 years.

This role will offer £100k - £140k base salary, plus bonus and equity / options and the founders see this as a huge opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of the Founding team and support their growth through to exit.

This role will be 5 days a week in the office initially.

The role will entail:

  • Review, develop and implement best in class financial systems and processes
  • Own financial and management accounting and produce statutory accounts, monthly management reports and forecasts
  • Full financial management of recently acquired software business
  • Automate, day-to-day finance operations (including AP, AR, payroll)
  • Ensure tax compliance and file comprehensive VAT/tax returns while also exploring any available tax credits/grants
  • Analyse and reduce costs by introducing and enforcing cost control measures
  • Procure and purchase equipment efficiently by building strong supplier relationships
  • Develop and implement FP&A and Commercial Finance offering as business scales
  • Act as Finance Business Partner to all functions by providing insight and analysis to aid decision making
  • Opportunity to lead broader commercial ad-hoc projects as business scales
  • Work with founders on all product launches - 1st planned Qtr 2 2025

Skills and experience required:

  • Fully Qualified accountant with a background of working in Tech Hardware
  • Experience, and willingness, to work in a hands-on role setting up financial systems and processes from scratch
  • Experience working in tech companies that have scaled
  • Very strong systems and tech experience with the ability to implement and automate

This is a huge opportunity for someone and the business is looking to turn this recruitment process around quickly.
