Radley Green is a fantastic recruitment agency and they are a pleasure to work with. I first spoke to Conan while I was in Australia and we organised to meet as soon as I arrived in London. He really listened to what I wanted in a job and kept me up to date with the progress of my job search. Conan fully prepared me for the interview and gave me a lot of relevant information about the company I was meeting with. Within 2 weeks of arriving in London I had my perfect job. Radley Green has great contacts and are very focused on what a candidate is looking for. They made the whole process very easy and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a job in London!

Preparing for your job search

Preparation is key and will often determine the outcome of your job search. We have identified below some key points to bear in mind prior to commencing your job search but call your Radley Green consultant should you require any further information.

Always consider the factors that are pushing you towards making a change and what your motivation is for doing so. For instance have you reached a ceiling at your company and now lack room for progression? Are you being paid below market rate for your role or level? Has the role become monotonous or is it out of sync with your career aspirations. In addition to this you will need to consider what you have gained from your current role, how and where you would like to go with your career, your salary expectations and what your strengths and weaknesses are. You may find that you are able to assess your own skills and experience and determine all of this before meeting with us or you may find that you need some impartial advice. Either way this is all part of the registration process with Radley Green.

Please find below a few points to consider when preparing for your job search:

  • Register with Radley Green - during the registration process we will develop a greater understanding of you and your requirements, your work history and skill sets in order to find the role you are looking for. At this time we will also provide you with a summary of current market conditions, advice on how to improve your CV, recommendations on performing well in interviews and details of any suitable roles we are working on.

  • Networking - create or update your LinkedIn profile. Both potential employers and recruitment consultants use LinkedIn to search for candidates who are active on the job market. LinkedIn profiles are also used to check the background and experience of candidates prior to meeting them so this is a good way to ensure your first impression is a good one.

  • Develop market knowledge - ensure you are up to date with trends in your industry and gain an understanding of your competitors, who could be potential employers, through relevant trade press and online resources. It is key that you understand the issues having an impact on your industry and sector so you can talk about them with confidence.

  • Online Research - register your details on the Radley Green website and follow us on Twitter to receive job alerts and relevant news articles. We also recommend that you keep yourself updated with the most relevant job boards and apply for roles relative to your experience and salary expectations.
